She's home!

After Todd had an impressive day Friday, the doctor told us that if we wanted to, we could take her home and monitor her closely. We were shocked. After all the bad news, apparently it took just two good days in a row to know she was probably going to be okay. I don't think it's any coincidence that when we started visiting her regularly, she began her recovery. It was an impressively quick turn around, once she began to actually turn around. So, with that thought, we decided to indeed take her home.

She has acted incredibly normally since returning home. She is eating and drinking on her own. There has been no vomiting, and limited diarrhea, so far. She is practically skin and bones after not eating for four days straight, but we're determined to help her gain back what she lost, and then some. She's currently getting spoiled on soft cat food. We are so happy she's home.

The vet confessed to us when we came to pick her up that she "wasn't really a believer," but that she was glad we decided to continue treatment. So are we. :) There is the slight possibility that Todd could get sick again if her body isn't ready to support itself, but as long as that doesn't happen in the next few days, she is immune for life. Since this is one of the worst illnesses an animal can go through, we are breathing a sigh of relief knowing she has immunity. Here are a few pictures from last night when we brought her home.

The bandage is just because that's the leg the iv/catheter was in, but we took it off later in the evening.

On her favorite kitchen chair. She likes to sleep there during the day.

Don't let her expression fool you, she was ecstatic to be home. For how tiny she is, her purr was louder than ever.

How sad for Todd. So glad she is back with you and fingers crossed the next couple of days are all a breeze for her.
It's just too sad when our pets get sick. You feel so helpless.
